  • GLOW2 software crashing .NET error

    Hi everyone,

    I have a newly installed 309 case, very happy with it. However, I wanted to use the GLOW2 software and ran into a bit of a frustrating issue.

    I downloaded GLOW2 from the website, it worked and I could adjust lights and fans perfectly. However, when trying to launch the software a second time, it crashed and I whenever I start it up now, I get a .NET error, telling me that an exception was not handled by the application. Then, the entire app screen is grey, and if I click anywhere, the app closes (see this image). Re-installing and restarting the computer do not help, I keep having the error, no matter what I do, and I am starting to get the feeling that the error may be on the application side. I hope one of you can help to figure out what is going on, since the description of the error does not provide much workable info to me.

    I will now provide my hardware and the error in detail.

    My setup:

    Mobo: ASUS ROG STRIX B550-F GAMING
    RAM: Crucial vengeance LPX 16gb (2x 8gb) 3200mhz
    VGA: EVGA NVIDIA Geforce RTX 3070
    CPU: AMD Ryzen 5: 5600X
    PSU: Bequiet Straight Power 11 (650W)
    SSD: Samsung EVO 970

    Short error message text (image):

    The error's full text:

    See the end of this message for details on invoking
    just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.

    ************** JIT Debugging **************
    To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
    application or computer (machine.config) must have the
    jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
    The application must also be compiled with debugging
    enabled.

    For example:

    <configuration>
    <system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
    </configuration>

    When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
    will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
    rather than be handled by this dialog box.

    Hi Ridafyt1, please help us to clarify the following questions, thank you!
    1. Please check the USB cable and the SATA cables are connected properly.
    2. Did you connect the audio devices, such as speakers or earphones etc? If yes, please check all the devices can work.
    3. Please check if the control buttons on the I/O panel work or not.
    4. A few AMD Ryzen users may experience intermittent USB connectivity issues reported on 500 Series chipsets.
    Please refer to this article for details: https://www.tomshardware.com/news/am...with-ryzen-pcs.

    I hope it helps, please let us know if the problem solved or not. Thank you.

      Hello,

      Just wanted to update that I replugged all the cables that connected to the motherboard, replugged all the power supply cables, re-installed windows and the problems seems to have been resolved. Unfortunately, I cannot pinpoint exactly what caused the issue, but I am glad it is resolved. Thanks for the help!
