Hello, hope all is well
Just wondering if there is a way to upgrade the Top SATA HDD Port on the GROne Chassis so I can install my SSD and run it at 6Gb/s instead of 3Gb/s? I have it connected to a 6Gb/s SATA port but the SSD never went over 3Gb/s. With the SSD directly connected to a 6Gb/s SATA port it performs as it should.
At the moment I have my SSD installed internally connected to a 6Gb/s SATA port and have a Western Digital Green drive installed to the external Top SATA port. But I want to put the Western Digital drive inside the case, currently for cooling reasons. I will be buying more SSDs soon and would like to be able to just swap them depending on what work I'm doing without opening the case every time
I did have the SSD installed externally but the performance drop was very noticable. I primarily work with audio and have my very large sampled instruments installed on it and the instrument load times were comparible to a mechanical drive.
Oh, also my MOBO has 8 SATA ports and they are all used, 1 SSD and 7 Western Digital drives. I have seperate drives for OS, audio plugins and libraries, coding and assets, games, music, OS backups and a miscellaneous/downloads drive.
Thanks and all the best
